Garphyttan – A Classic Industrial Community

Garphyttan is a traditional industrial community located in Örebro Municipality. Nearby, you’ll also find Garphyttan National Park, one of Sweden’s oldest national parks. Established in 1909, it was part of a historic decision by the Swedish Parliament to set aside land for nine national parks—the first in Europe.

Our name, Garphyttan, represents the old industrial community, where life on farms and work in the forests and fields shaped everyday existence. In these early communities, the boundaries between work and leisure, people and nature, indoors and outdoors were not as distinct as they are today—an idea that forms the foundation of what we stand for. That’s why we carry the name Garphyttan.

Our name is, quite simply, a tribute to the countryside and the historic industrial towns where Sweden’s industrialization and global export success first began.
