Garphyttan was founded in Sweden in 2020 with a simple mission: to create functional, long-lasting clothing that bridges the gap between work and outdoor life. Inspired by the small industrial village of Garphyttan and the nearby national park, we design garments that perform just as well in the forest as they do on the farm, on a mountain trail, or in everyday life.

Why Garphyttan?

Our name comes from Garphyttan—a small industrial village in Örebro County, Sweden, where rural life and physical labor shaped the everyday rhythm. Just nearby lies Garphyttan National Park, established in 1909 as one of Europe’s first. It’s a region where people have always lived close to nature—and depended on it.

We chose the name Garphyttan to honor this heritage. In those early communities, there were no clear lines between work and free time, between indoors and outdoors. That spirit—practical, grounded, and deeply connected to nature—inspires everything we create.
